IMTA - INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT TEACHERS ACADEMY
Bled, Slovenia; June 8 - 20, 2008

CEEMAN's IMTA – International Management Teachers Academy provides a unique opportunity for young faculty to improve their teaching skills, methods, and materials, including teaching with cases, case writing, course design, and curricula development. It also helps to improve competences and skills related to specific managerial disciplines and provides inputs related to other aspects of a faculty member’s professional life, such as consulting, institution development and administration, and social responsibility. The exchange of ideas and experiences with colleagues from other countries proves to be a valuable source of learning, and an effective instrument for the establishment of professional contacts and networks.

In the past eight editions IMTA has already educated 268 management educators from 96 institutions in 31 countries, who have established their own network – the IMTA Alumni Association - through which they maintain and further develop communication and cooperation among themselves and their institutions, while also enjoying various post-IMTA support and help provided by the IMTA program and CEEMAN.
From the feedback received in previous editions of the program, it is obvious that the impact of IMTA is huge and goes beyond personal development. It includes improved teaching skills, new course design and curricula development, production of new cases - including the winners in various international case writing competitions - faculty promotion, institution building and change, and increased international cooperation between IMTA alumni institutions through joint programs, faculty exchange, and other initiatives.

“I have never taught with a case before, but after the first day I could not fall asleep, because I kept thinking
how I should start incorporating cases into my courses right now, right there.”

“It was a great opportunity to share minds and attitudes with the world leading professors
and with motivated teachers from all over the world.
The IMTA program has greatly changed our attitudes.”
Vladimir Soloviev, State University of Management, Russia
