On Wednesday, November 7, 2007, Los Angeles Lakers forward Vladimir Radmanovic teamed up with Divino restaurant owner Goran Milic to host the first-ever "Crossing Oceans for Children" fundraiser to benefit orphaned children in Serbia and Montenegro.

Held at LA Farm restaurant in Santa Monica, CA, the fun-filled evening included a specially prepared dinner by Goran, entertainment, and a raffle drawing and silent auction featuring autographed Lakers memorabilia and one-of-a-kind experiences such as a private youth basketball clinic with Vladi at the Lakers practice facility.

Matt "Money" Smith from KLAC 570 served as the evening’s emcee. In attendance to support Vladi were Lakers teammate Ronny Turiaf, Lakers Head Coach Phil Jackson, General Manager Mitch Kupchak, Executive Vice President Jeanie Buss and Lakers radio play-by-play announcer Spero Dedes.

Proceeds from the "Crossing Oceans for Children" event will fund vocational training programs and provide school supplies, health kits, and other assistance to over 5,000 youth living in Serbia and Montenegro orphanages in cooperation with International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC).

"The biggest thing these children need is hope" said Radmanovic, who established his foundation in 2005. "I don’t think there is a sadder thing in this world than a child with no hope for the future. By learning a trade these kids stand a chance of making a nice life for themselves and giving back the gift of hope to those still living in those orphanages."

The Vladimir Radmanovic Children’s Foundation is committed to assisting organizations that work with children who have abandoned or removed from their homes for various reasons.

The Adizes Institute not only supports, but also encourages all of you to support Vladimir’s noble action.

Let’s do something for the orphans of Montenegro!
