High promotion for James H. Zukin, Member of the Adizes Advisory Board

The Adizes Institute is pleased to announce that Mr. James Zukin, member of the Adizes Advisory Board, has been appointed the Chairman of Asia for the company Houlihan Lokey.

On May 15th, 2007 the company Houlihan Lokey announced that its Board of Directors has elected James H. Zukin as Chairman of Asia. Mr. Zukin’s appointment comes at a pivotal time in Houlihan Lokey’s business development in Asia and underscores the firm’s commitment to the region.

Mr. Zukin joins David Putnam, Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific Investment Banking. Together, they will lead the expansion of Houlihan Lokey’s regional operations leveraging the powerful capital and investment capabilities of ORIX with Houlihan Lokey’s global expertise in M&A, valuation and financial restructuring, delivering unique solutions to advisory clients across Asia.

Commenting on the expansion, Mr. Zukin said, “The basis of our business strategy in Asia is multifold and includes world-class valuation expertise, cross-border M&A advisory services, the development of co-investment opportunities, financial restructuring and creating successful restructuring examples for state-owned enterprises. Mr. Zukin, a founding Partner of Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin, has driven the firm’s strategic initiatives for over 30 years and has extensive involvement with business and government agencies throughout Asia. He is viewed as an expert in the investment banking community, having addressed symposiums over the last year hosted by CBRC (China Banking Regulatory Commission) and CINDA (China CINDA Asset Management). Additionally, Mr. Zukin led Houlihan Lokey’s seminar on the Chinese M&A law with participation by the CSRC (China Securities Regulatory Commission) and hosted a SASAC (State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council) official delegation. In 2004, Mr. Zukin formed the Sovereign Advisory Services Group for Houlihan Lokey. Sovereign debt advisory clients now include Antigua & Barbuda, Belize, the Dominican Republic, Liberia, the Republic of Iraq, and the Russian Federation. He also advised Korea and KAMCO in the late 1990s.

Mr. Zukin serves as a delegate to the Paris Club Meetings involving the Private Sector. He is also a member of the Institute of International Finance, Inc. (IIF) and a corporate member of the Council of Foreign Relations.
Mr. Zukin earned a B.A. in economics and English with honors from the University of California at Berkeley, with honors, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
