Dr. Adizes Elected a Fellow-academician to International Academy of Management
On March 16th, 2007, Dr. Ichak Adizes will participate in the 2007 IMD meeting in Lausanne as one of the newly elected fellow-academicians of this prestigious academy.
The International Academy of the Management annual meeting will be held at the IMD facility in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The members of International Academy of Management are known as: Fellows. Election to Fellowship is the highest honor conferred by the international management movement. The election is by invitation. Access to membership is by election. Prior to election, the potential new members are invited to submit their candidature.
A maximum of fifteen Fellows can be elected annually for life.
The International Academy of Management had its origins in the first International Management Congress held in Prague in 1924 at the initiative of President Jan Masaryk.
At the congress, CIOS - the World Council of Management (Conseil International de l'Organisation Scientifique) was founded. CIOS established the International Academy of Management in 1958. The Academy is now independent of CIOS.
The objectives of the International Academy of Management are:
- To honor excellence in management through the election to Fellowship of individuals who have made an outstanding international contribution to the science and art of management.
- To provide a forum for the exchange internationally of knowledge and experience so as to contribute to the advancement of the science and art of management and thus to human progress.
Until now, the International Academy of Management has recognized the achievements of the management gurus of today as: Carlos Ghosn, Prof. Wu Jinglian, Prof. Adrian Cadbury, Prof. Peter F. Drucker, Kim Clark and Prof. Michael Porter.
